Job Summary:
Provide People's Food Co-op shoppers with high quality, good food from the deli stock recipes in a manner that maintains quality, freshness, and supply in the deli

Duties and Responsibilities:
Position Responsibilitiesa.

Ensure a high standard or customer service for bakery and kitchen personnel according to established customer service vision and expectations.b.

Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards.c. Work together with employees on shift to create a positive work environment.d. Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.e. Assist in ordering supplies/ingredients for department.f. Assist in scheduling and supervision of department personnel.g. Assist in overseeing the receipts or orders and verifying invoice accuracies and product quality on all deliveries.
General Responsibilitiesa. Ensure adequate supplies and selection of deli and bakery products.b. Prepare bakery and deli case entrees, salads and other deli items as needed.c. Ensure proper product rotation.d. Update recipes as they change.e. Create and document new recipes.f. Participate in monthly/quarterly inventories for department.g. Cleans and maintains work areas, utensils, and equipment.h. Ability to prioritize work tasks, multi-task, and maintain focus.i. Operates with a sense of teamwork.j. Understands and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures.k. Accepts direction willingly and follows through with delegated tasks.l. Performs tasks consistently at an acceptable rate as outlined by department managerm. Maintains safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations.c.

OtherRequirementsPerform other tasks assigned by the Department ManagerSkills and Abilities:1. Minimum one (1) year experience in food service.2. Previous experience with ordering and inventory control.3. Strong organizational skills.4. Ability to work well with others in a cooperative environment where teamwork and communication is essential.
