We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Manager at People's Food Co-op. This is a full-time position working Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in various departments as needed, including grocery, receiving, and pricing of products.
  • Communicate effectively with department managers and staff to ensure a positive work environment.
  • Report performance issues and troubleshoot problems in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Train department staff and ensure they are aware of policies and procedures.
  • Ensure department cases and prep areas are clean and well-maintained.
  • Receive product deliveries and ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain knowledge of products and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
  • Comply with food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a grocery department preferred.
  • Previous experience with ordering and inventory control.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with others in a cooperative environment.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds frequently and 60 pounds occasionally.
