Job Title: Civil Engineer - Drainage Design

Company: Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson

Position Summary: Responsible for applying engineering principles to coordinate and execute various assignments. U.S. Residency Required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with clients and team members for project completion and quality assurance
  • Conduct engineering designs and review junior staff designs
  • Ensure quality control of design computations
  • Manage Schematic Impact reports and complex H&H projects
  • Lead interdisciplinary coordination within the project team

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of stormwater and drainage concepts
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD drafting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in mentoring junior staff
  • Client relationship management
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Texas Professional Engineer License or eligibility within 16 months
  • 7+ years in drainage engineering
  • Design oversite and staff training experience
  • TXDOT drainage design expertise
  • Knowledge of GEOPAK Drainage and HEC-RAS
  • Experience with roadway drainage design
  • Preferable experience in erosion and sediment control design
  • Familiarity with CLOMR/LOMR and FEMA floodplain mapping

Working Conditions:

Work primarily in an office environment with occasional fieldwork

Fieldwork may involve various environmental conditions

Some lifting up to 25 lbs may be required
