Role Summary: The RPLS Project Manager plays a crucial leadership role within our surveying division, tasked with the comprehensive planning, organization, and supervision of survey initiatives from start to finish. This position encompasses project oversight, client engagement, team leadership, and the assurance of delivering precise and superior surveying services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Project Initiation and Planning
  • Facilitate project kickoff by collaborating with clients to outline project scope, objectives, and expected outcomes.
  • Create detailed project plans that encompass timelines, financial projections, and resource allocations.
Client Engagement
  • Foster and maintain robust client relationships, acting as the primary liaison for all project-related communications.
  • Provide timely updates on project status, modifications, and developments to clients.
Team Leadership
  • Formulate and guide project teams, including survey personnel, surveyors, and support staff.
  • Delegate responsibilities, prioritize project tasks, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Financial Oversight
  • Track project budgets, expenditures, and resource distribution to guarantee efficient project delivery.
  • Acquire necessary tools, materials, and subcontractor services as required.
Quality Control
  • Supervise the execution of survey projects to ensure data integrity, compliance with surveying standards, and the generation of high-quality outputs.
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance protocols.
Documentation Management
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, change orders, and client communications.
  • Prepare and evaluate survey reports, maps, and other deliverables.
Billing and Accounts Management
  • Assess all ongoing projects and open work-in-progress reports to determine invoicing timelines.
  • Review invoices, contracts, proposals, change orders, and addendums to ensure all documentation is complete prior to invoice generation.
  • Collaborate with the Project Controls Specialist and Operations Manager to review outstanding accounts receivable and strategize follow-ups with clients.
  • Engage with clients regarding overdue accounts and coordinate payment discussions.
  • Meet regularly with the Project Controls Specialist and Operations Manager to address and resolve invoicing and documentation issues.
Risk Assessment
  • Identify potential project risks and formulate mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful project completion.
  • Proactively address and resolve challenges as they arise.
Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all surveying activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Promote a safety-first culture within the project team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) licensure or certification is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in project management within land surveying or a related sector is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple surveying projects.
  • Exceptional project management capabilities, including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and software tools.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as necessary.
