Responsible to the Director of Admission, the Associate Director of Admission Technology serves as the team leader for all aspects of Admission CRM (Slate). This includes managing day-to-day processing, creating and updating reports for admission staff, financial aid staff, and Vice President for Enrollment, and coordinating CRM communications and events functionality. The Associate Director will also assist and/or provide leadership in the Office of Admission in meeting enrollment goals by promoting the College and working with prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, and campus partners in the recruitment of students. The Associate Director will adhere in all duties and responsibilities as delineated by the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s Guide to Ethical Practice in College Admission.

This position is eligible for remote work.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably from a liberal arts institution.

  • This position requires a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and must be insurable by the College’s insurance carrier.

  • Aside from direct experience working in Slate, applicants must meet one of the following experience requirements:

    • Five years of college admission experience; OR

    • A total of five years of experience, which must include both college admission and related experience; OR

    • Three years of college admission experience and a post-graduate degree.

  • Cultural competency and enthusiasm for interacting with students and families from a wide range of backgrounds are essential.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required for this position.

  • Candidates must be able to understand and articulate the benefits of a liberal arts education in a residential setting and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must exhibit professionalism and diplomacy in working effectively with diverse constituencies and demonstrate self-confidence and poise.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

  • Must be comfortable working with customer relationship management software and all forms of social media.

  • Must be able to work independently, be self-directed, and enjoy working in a team-based environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Slate Captain within the Admission Office.

  • Manage Admission intranet and portal functions, including coordination with Chief of Digital Strategy and Enrollment Services.

  • Support daily processing and data management, including application procedure and manual uploads. Look for ways to streamline, optimize and automate same.

  • Create and update Slate reports for admission staff, financial aid staff, and Vice President for Enrollment, and coordinating CRM communications and events functionality.

  • Accurately and safely, share data with other campus constituencies as appropriate. Assist with training in Slate for intra-campus partners.

  • Speak with and/or interview prospective students and caregivers when they engage with the College to discuss their admission qualifications, academic, and co-curricular interests, and to explain the value/benefits of a Rhodes education. Once admitted, counsel families through their financial award and decision-making process.

  • Plan, arrange and execute approximately four to six weeks of physical and/or virtual recruitment travel.

  • Build and maintain relationships, encourage applications, and promote campus visits with prospective students in assigned market segments. Serve as alumni and parent support in the geographic market.

  • Read all applications within assigned market segment and others as needed by the appropriate deadlines and lead an admission committee.

  • Define annual goals in conjunction with the Director for assigned market segments.

  • Assist other team members as appropriate, including covering areas or duties not initially assigned.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Enrollment or the Director of Admission.
