Senior Accounts Payable Manager
Dallas, TX – hybrid, 3 days onsite

One of Vaco’s publicly-traded partners is looking to add a Sr. Manager to the AP team in a newly recruited role to take some of the workload off the current team.  Looking for folks with a process mindset, that can evaluate what they have in place from a headcount/org chart perspective as well as how they are functionally processing AP across their business units.  Day-to-day will include mostly high-level review and analysis, managing the P-card program as well as international payables.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage Accounts Payable Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department, including invoice processing, expense report management, and vendor payments.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounts payable clerks or specialists. Provide training, support, and performance evaluations to ensure the team meets departmental and organizational goals.
  • Invoice Processing: Review and approve invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies. Ensure timely and accurate processing of all invoices and credit memos.
  • Vendor Management: Maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers. Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to invoices, payments, or account inquiries.
  • Payment Processing: Manage and oversee the scheduling and execution of vendor payments, including electronic payments, checks, and ACH transactions. Ensure payments are processed in a timely manner.
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliation of accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger. Identify and resolve discrepancies between vendor statements and company records.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accounts payable reports and metrics to management, including aging reports, cash flow projections, and expense analyses.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable function. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and industry standards.
  • Audit Support: Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and responding to audit inquiries related to accounts payable.
