As a Planner, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of ship dry dock projects for a fleet of cruise ships.

Dry docks are used for the construction, maintenance, and repair of ships, boats, and other watercraft.

This includes managing budgets, schedules, and logistics, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations, and collaborating with vendors and contractors for timely project completion. You will need to travel to sites internationally, a great opportunity to see the projects first hand. 

What You’ll Do: Master the Dry-Dock Schedule:

  • Oversee and coordinate the master schedule for 3-5 dry docks annually.
  • Gather and analyze data to avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Partner with various departments to collect and submit necessary information.
Ensure Budget Compliance:
  • Maintain and monitor project budgets.
  • Review project plans to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  • Analyze progress against work schedules and costs.
Resolve Complex Issues:
  • Tackle scheduling conflicts and delays with effective solutions.
  • Assess risks and recommend improvements to minimize delays.
  • Direct vendor work to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
Facilitate Communication:
  • Conduct planning meetings and serve as a liaison between stakeholders.
  • Produce reports, presentations, and reviews for management and key stakeholders.
  • Follow up on pending actions to keep projects on track.
Manage Logistics:
  • Update the master schedules and manage logistics, including heat maps, loading plans, and inspections.
  • Track project progress against milestones and budgets.
What We’re Looking For: Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine/Mechanical/Industrial/Civil Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in large engineering projects similar to shipyard operations, dry dock repair, and/or project management. You may have large civil/structural engineering project experience.  
  • Proficiency in IT software (Office, Project, and/or planning specific software).
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find efficient, economical solutions.
  • Excellent coordination skills to manage complex dry dock processes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a team environment.
