Job Overview

The Supply Chain Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet business demands. Collaborating closely with the Supply Planning Manager, this position fosters cross-departmental cooperation among Marketing, Product Development, Sourcing, Logistics, and Warehousing to effectively manage products from inception through their lifecycle.

This role empowers the individual to make informed purchasing decisions, balancing inventory needs with total delivered costs for finished goods. Additionally, the Supply Chain Planner is responsible for various auditing, reporting, and analytical tasks, including managing purchase orders, price fluctuations, inventory assessments, vendor relationships, and service strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate purchasing strategies and execute order requirements based on MRP signals and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate optimal production and delivery timelines to meet demand.
  • Communicate service outlooks, including potential disruptions, and devise strategies to address service shortfalls.
  • Utilize consensus forecasts to refine supply plans and develop purchasing strategies that achieve service levels, inventory targets, and desired pricing outcomes.
  • Engage with sourcing teams on new product launches to ensure timely execution.
  • Oversee inventory management and communication regarding product reformulations and discontinuations.
  • Maintain data integrity within ERP/MRP systems through regular audits.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance supply planning processes and tools for designated areas.
  • Conduct monthly inventory reconciliations across multiple locations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with 1-5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably within the consumer goods sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across various organizational functions.
  • Prior experience with MRP and ERP systems is highly beneficial.
  • Proficient in Excel with exceptional analytical capabilities.
  • APICS certification is recommended.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Capability to extend hands and arms in any direction.
  • Must be able to remain seated and stationary throughout the workday.
