Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Leads adidas’ Corporate Affairs efforts in the US and Government Affairs at the local level to enhance the public profile of adidas with relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identifies, builds, and maintains relationships with the state and local business community, industry associations, and neighborhood associations.
- Identifies, builds, and maintains relationships with state and local governments.
- Assists with federal government affairs issues, including leading on local aspects of federal government relations issues.
- Serves as lead contact with select non-profit organizations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to network and identify strategic opportunities with businesses and industry associations to provide mutually beneficial promotion opportunities.
- Ability to advocate for adidas’ interests to state and local governmental entities.
- Proven ability to apply integrative thinking to strategic planning and decision making.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong computer, research, and analytic capabilities.
- Attention to detail with excellent project management, process, and organizational skills to prioritize multiple projects and activities in a faced paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams with diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to reach, analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

- University Degree in Government, Political Science, Public Administration, or a similarly focused degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a strategic lead with a major organization in the areas of Government Affairs, Public Affairs, or Corporate Affairs, or as a staffing lead for a federal, state, or local government official.
