Empowered Hospitality is on the lookout for an HR Director for a growing hospitality client based in New York City. This is a fully in-office position.

The Director of Human Resources will lead all processes and initiatives, improving the employee experience from recruitment to end of employment. They will be responsible for providing daily guidance and support to foster a people-first culture that aligns with company's vision and values.

Responsibilities:

Talent

Execute strategy as it relates to employer branding, current, and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning Manage and refine full-cycle recruitment process at multiple locations, including job posting, interviewing, and collaborating with managers to identify necessary job skills and competencies Analyze trends in compensation and benefits Research and propose a competitive base and incentives to attract and retain top talent Streamline the onboarding process and welcome all new hires, facilitating any training Performance

Identify training needs for employees to ensure they are prepared to succeed in their roles Create learning and development initiatives that provide internal opportunities for employees Collaborate with leadership and management team to develop and deliver performance reviews

ER

Advise employees, managers, and leaders on complex HR issues such as disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations in a compliant manner Foster a culture and environment of inclusion and building relationships Develop Recognition programs to reward or inspire employees Partner with other leadership for employee engagement events and initiatives Facilitate exit interviews, gathering feedback for discussion and potential implementation

Compliance

Ensure all processes and records are compliant with HR federal, state, and local regulations Continually read, research, network, and pursue knowledge to enhance overall grasp of HR discipline Guide HR Team in researching, developing, drafting, and updating company policies, procedures, and employee handbooks Complete cyclical compliance audits of various documents and/or practices Manage new employee enrollment and general benefit administration Ensure accuracy of payroll administration Work with HRIS/Payroll/ATS representatives to ensure platforms are delivering maximum utility

Qualifications

5+ years in senior leadership HR, people, or learning & development role Bachelor’s degree in HR, hospitality management, business administration, or related field Ability to travel to new openings Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Proficiency with HRIS/Payroll systems Preferred: Prior hospitality experience, open to other industries Preferred: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHR or other related certification Bonus: Bilingual in English and Spanish
