How You'll Make a Difference

The Project Management Certification Developer is a critical role that combines Subject Matter Expertise, writing skills, and project management to develop exam content. This position is targeted at certified Project Managers with a passion for sharing their knowledge and expertise. The Project Management Certification Developer is responsible for creating certification exam materials/content, working with our team of amazing volunteers, and spearheading exam modernization efforts, while also managing the certification team's many diverse projects.

Essential Job Functions

  • Leverage expertise in a variety of project management methodologies/frameworks and adjacent skills to author certification exam items, case studies and templates as well as edit/improve content written by others to assure alignment to PMI and test industry standards.
  • Facilitate/Co-Facilitate exam development and review meetings, teaming with a global group of volunteer Subject Matter Experts
  • Plan, execute and finalize certification projects, adhering to business deadlines and within resource or budget constraints, assuring outcomes are met and benefits realized.
  • Manage proof-of-concept development efforts, pilots, tool/technology selection projects, and process improvement and reengineering efforts.
  • Utilize strong writing/editing skills, and Project Management expertise to create exam questions to support development goals, and meet or exceed industry quality standards
  • Co-facilitate in-person and virtual certification item writing or review workshops, improving contributor's content and meeting production goals
  • Apply working knowledge of instructional design/educational theory to ensure exam questions map to design criteria
  • Research and pilot new technologies and methodologies (including AI) to
    • gain efficiencies in certification development and QA processes
    • innovate exam item design and models with a focus on fidelity
    • evaluate authoring tools, develop effective prompts, and fine tune processes
  • Manage team projects, support product launches, and ensure effective project collaboration across multiple business units including but not limited to Digital Experience and IT systems, Customer Experience, Exam Security, and Customer Operations
  • Leverage project management methodologies given different scenarios, requirements, and constraints
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing potential issues to ensure project success
  • Stay up to date with the project management best practices and methodologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • PMP Certification required. ACP certification desirable. Other PMI certifications or third-party project management certifications both valuable and useful.
  • 3-5+ years' experience leading and managing projects, with a record of successful project delivery required, with preference given to those with experience in multiple agile frameworks/methodologies.
  • 2+ years' experience creating user-based content (for example, assessment, training, technical documentation)
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills required. Native fluency in English required. Strong skills in an additional language desired.
  • Experience in creating testing and/or training materials with sound understanding of instructional design or educational theory is highly desired.
