Duties

This position is located in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Office of Inspector General. The EPA OIG is responsible for detecting and deterring waste, fraud, and abuse, and promote efficiency and effectiveness in the programs and operations of the EPA and the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board, in accordance with the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended. The incumbent serves as the AIG for Strategic Analysis and Results. As the AIG OSAR, the incumbent is a member of the OIG senior leadership team actively involved in the executive decision-making process.

As the AIG for Strategic Analysis and Results, you will be responsible for:
Strategic planning and initiatives, developing, coordinating, conducting, and overseeing predictive data analytics, statistical sampling, data modeling, and data mining research efforts of EPA's programs and operations designed to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse. Work with senior leadership in interpreting statutes and legal decisions, preparing for review written or oral legal opinions, and reviewing analysis for legal sufficiency of operations, policies, regulations, directives, memoranda and correspondence and in developing the Strategic, Multi-year, and Annual Plans and ensures linkage of these documents. Prioritizes work within assigned area and assigns Directors to priority work. Ensure programs are carried out in accordance with OIG goals and objectives and are consistent with the mission and management objectives of the Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General, and Chief of Staff. Oversee work, assesses overall effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of programs. Provide leadership and direction in identifying the appropriate course of action that has the greatest benefit and lowest risk to operations. Direct the work of subordinates with full supervision and management authority for long-range planning, goal setting and evaluation of the staff.
