Who We Are Looking For:The Stockton Ports are seeking a passionate Corporate Sales Manager with a minimum of 1 year of high volume sponsorship sales experience. The Ports are looking for an energetic leader in the office to oversee our Corporate Sales department by generating new business and servicing current clients. This individual must have strong communication skills and the ability to strategically and creatively plan and develop new partnership opportunities.  This position requires an individual who will work closely with the marketing department to activate all partnerships as well as promote our organization to the general public.
A Day In The Life:During the off season, this position will have a strong emphasis on generating new sponsorship revenue. This will be done through phone calls, emails, networking events, and meetings. The individual in this position will participate in Power Hour Phone Calls with the sales team throughout the day with the main target being sponsorship sales. Leading up to the season, this position will also be responsible for activating our partnership elements. This includes but is not limited to scheduling signage installation, organizing sponsor logos and graphics, generating sponsorship PA announcements and activating all sponsored in-game promotions. Each day will also consist of servicing current partners.

CORPORATE SALES DUTIES 
  • Prospect and close new corporate sponsorships through phone calls, networking events, and in-person meetings
  • Develop unique and customized proposals and sales presentations for new business prospects 
  • Work closely with other members of the Stockton Ports sales team to achieve team goals while meeting personal sales and account management objectives 
  • Expected to make 40-50 phone calls throughout the day to book meetings and close prospective clients 
  • Lead outbound sales efforts to effectively create and cultivate opportunities for property clients 
  • Effectively manage ones own book of business, including prospecting focus, time management and sales pipeline 
  • Ability to provide detailed reporting of sales pipeline and activity to both internal senior leadership and external property clients 
  • Provide regular progress reports on business development goals and new business outreach.  
MARKETING DUTIES 
  • Assist with all club marketing research and strategy to monitor fan engagement. Works in partnership with Assistant General Manager and Business Analytics Team to identify trends and consumer behaviors that can be utilized in actionable marketing and advertising campaigns to drive ticket sales and corporate partnerships. 
  • Support and promote fan engagement initiatives and outreach in conjunction with Fan Development partners to develop new audiences and retain current audience segments working closely with all sales lines and corporate partner relations. 
  • Execute grassroots community-based initiatives and new audience development strategies 
  • Executes the media schedules and promotional activities with key advertising partners 
  • Works in partnership with corporate sales to manage execution of partner assets in all club related advertising, marketing and event related properties. 
  • Maintain brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communications channels 
  • In partnership with the Promotions and Game Presentations teams, create special events, giveaways and activities based on meaningful data that drive incremental sales and improve the guest experience 
  • Maintain content calendar to ensure promotion of appropriate team-related content, events, marketing efforts, programs and sponsorship activations.  
  • Assist with in-game promotions

What You Will Do:
  • Generate new sponsorship, season ticket, and group revenue - this will be done by first prospecting, then making the initial phone calls, followed by meetings, proposal creations, and finalizing the deal
  • Ensure that all sponsorship elements are completed and activated as described in the contracts
  • Complete all necessary Corporate Sales Reports in a timely manner
  • Develop end of the season Proof of Performance Packages for all Corporate Partners
  • Fulfill personal sales efforts gauged on weekly, monthly, and yearly terms
  • Contribute to the team growth in season ticket, partial season ticket and group ticket revenue
  • Creatively develop new ways to boost attendance and revenue
  • Assist in the Marketing department to increase exposure and brand awareness of The Stockton Ports
  • Other duties as necessary

Reports To: General Manager and Assistant General Manager
What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • An energetic and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to take initiative
  • 1 + year(s) of sales experience, ideally in sponsorship sales
  • Creative ability used to develop new partnership opportunities
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule (evenings and weekends)
