Job Overview

Holt of California is a distinguished member of the prestigious network of Caterpillar dealers globally. We specialize in the sale, service, and rental of a diverse range of machinery, including both large and small construction equipment, forklifts, and standby power generation systems.

POSITION LOCATION

This role focuses on the San Joaquin, Calaveras, and Amador Counties.

ROLE SUMMARY

The primary objective is to market Compact Construction Equipment (CCE) to existing and prospective clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications outlined below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and nurture business relationships with clients to enhance rental volume.
  • Actively pursue all sales leads generated through various channels, including advertising, reports, telemarketing, and customer referrals.
  • Organize and manage the territory and account base to ensure comprehensive sales coverage.
  • Employ territory management tools and daily planners to schedule calls and monitor outcomes.
  • Utilize jobsite documentation to record all subcontractor information.
  • Develop new client accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Provide potential clients with credit applications and promotional materials.
  • Engage with key office contacts within the territory at least twice monthly.
  • Visit job sites, including all subcontractors and general contractors.
  • Conduct telemarketing efforts to follow up on job leads after project initiation. Identify key personnel on-site.
  • Participate in all sales meetings.
  • Review telephone and dispatch logs daily for new leads and equipment deliveries within the territory.
  • Collaborate with Sales Rental Coordinators to confirm order accuracy and invoice details.
  • Leverage relevant computer systems to support sales initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various business documents, professional journals, and technical guidelines.
  • Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups of managers, clients, and the public.
  • Competent in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Adept at solving practical problems and navigating diverse variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Skilled in interpreting a variety of instructions presented in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

A valid driver’s license is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully execute the essential functions of this role.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or listen. The employee frequently must stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Occasionally, the employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee will regularly work near moving mechanical parts and may occasionally work in outdoor conditions, exposed to wet and/or humid environments. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $24,000 Annual Base + Commission

Compensation is based on knowledge, skills, and the ability to fulfill job responsibilities.

Potential Earnings: $80,000 - $110,000 Annually
