Who You Are
- Entrepreneurial and start-up minded, with a passion for energy transition.

- Able to work independently to conduct research and complete deliverables on time
What You'll Do
- Conduct policy-based research on legislation, regulations, and statutes, primarily and do so largely independently.
- Prepare recommendation memos based on research findings.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory activity.
- Develop and contribute to advocacy materials such as briefs, fact sheets, and other materials. in collaboration with internal experts and external consultants.
- Participate in internal and external meetings to influence policy outcomes, including policymakers and decision makers.
Required Skills and Experience
- Reside in California, ideally the Sacramento region (internship is primarily remote, but will have some in person meetings).
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in public policy, political science, economics, or a similar field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 cumulative from a college or graduate-level education program.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with a sense of urgency.
- Problem solving and self-initiative.
- Ability to thrive in a remote-first environment.
- Excited about the energy transition.
- Ability to work part-time or full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks May – August.
- Preferred: College degree and enrolled in graduate education program; ability to work part-time or full-time beginning March - August 2024; experience in energy or real estate industries.
