Job Description:
In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding the company's operations by reviewing merchant applications, identifying potential risks, and making informed decisions to mitigate fraud, compliance, and credit concerns. Your primary responsibilities will involve evaluating new and existing accounts, conducting thorough investigations, and providing exceptional customer support through various channels.
As a Risk Operations Analyst, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth and secure processing of payments, payroll, bill pay, and capital loan applications. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to make sound judgments will be invaluable in maintaining the integrity of the company's operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review merchant processing payments, payroll, bill pay, and capital loan applications for fraud, compliance, and credit risk concerns.
- Make outbound calls to merchants to validate information and make decisions on application outcomes based on sound judgment.
- Assist with customer inquiries via case reviews, email, and phone calls.
- Apply defined procedures to independently review and evaluate new and existing accounts while maintaining quality assessments.
- Write complete, streamlined, and accurate case notes.
- Apply strong communication and analytical skills in reviewing cases and supporting customers.
- Learn operation processes, apply changes timely, and teach other team members when needed.
- Plan and organize workload to ensure consistent achievement of goals and targets.
Required Experience/Skills
- Excellent research and investigation skills.
- Proficient use of technology with exceptional internet research skills.
- Perceptive with the ability to make independent and reasonable decisions in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and high-volume setting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in the financial technology or payments industry.
- Familiarity with risk management practices and compliance regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Education Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, or related discipline) is preferred.
