The Omni Charlottesville Hotel offers 208 beautifully appointed guestrooms and suites featuring panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, along with a full service restaurant and 12,000 square feet of meeting space. The Omni is located in the heart of downtown at the base of the downtown pedestrian mall. Our location offers a wide variety of local restaurants, pubs, entertainment venues, or even just to take a scenic walk and enjoy the culture of Charlottesville. There are numerous local historic sites that have played a unique role in American history which include: Monticello, the University of Virginia, Ash Lawn-Highland, Historic Court Square and Michie Tavern. Our Blue Ridge Parkway offers unmatched views and our very own downtown mall features daily entertainment at the four theaters which offer live music, movies and theatrical performances.

Although we have a beautiful property and location, our associates are what separate us from the rest of the hotels. Our culture provides an atmosphere that allows our associates to learn and grow in their professional development in a fun environment. Job Description

The Sales Manager creates group revenue for the Hotel by generating and/or developing new, referred, and repeat group business in a defined territory.

Responsibilities

Achieves monthly personal room night and revenue booking goals through proactive account solicitation within assigned market segments. Implements and upholds Omni brand standards across all operations. Emphasis on exceeding established group rate guidelines. Develops, maintains, and executes strategies and action plans to generate revenue for the hotel. Actively solicits key accounts to generate direct sales and, if necessary, guides the sales team to maintain a Proactive solicitation environment. Ensures timely completion of all required reports. Enhances the hotel's visibility by actively participating in city activities, industry associations, and trade shows. Supports and promotes corporate programs to increase customer awareness of Omni Hotels & Resorts and ensures customers receive appropriate benefits. Enjoys the Hospitality business and fosters a positive, challenging, and fun work environment, effectively communicating expectations to the team. Utilizes up-selling techniques to maximize hotel revenues, including banquet revenues. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing.

Qualifications

Account Planning Skills. Identify and understand account potential, setting mutual expectations between Omni and the customer. Manage the customer decision and relationship process effectively, ensuring high customer satisfaction and loyalty. Effectively communicate issues and concerns at all levels of the organization, including group presentations (written and oral). Direct and lead activities through internal and external resources, demonstrating strong team management skills, including participation in difficult discussions and influencing non-direct reports. Work effectively in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating strong teamwork, supporting colleagues, and contributing to a positive work environment. Scan and assess the competitive arena as it relates to region and segment to refine and improve the customer value proposition. Apply creative and strategic thinking skills to develop innovative solutions and strategies. Manage multiple priorities and re-prioritize as necessary to meet objectives and deadlines. Show ambition and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities with a "can do" and "say yes" attitude, bringing energy and a positive attitude that matches the hotel's commitment to excellence and high customer satisfaction. Plan and execute sales appointments, travel to prospects, maintain accounts, and demonstrate a return on investment in such activities. Work independently without supervision, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation. Possess a strong understanding and expertise in the sales and marketing process, maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction and reflecting the hotel's top-performing status in the city.
