General Summary: 

The State Employment Leadership Network (SELN) Program Assistant will work closely with all members of the team to support activities related to technical assistance, dissemination, project coordination, and course management. The Program Assistant will support project staff from within a distributed work environment, including staff and programs in various states and time-zones. This position can be filled anywhere in the United States, but occasional national travel may be required.

Examples of Duties: 

The Program Assistant will take a lead role in organization of project support activities. The incumbent will balance multiple priorities for project staff and provide a high level of attention to detail. The incumbent will utilize online project management software and other tools to organize and support project activities.

Manage reporting and learner status for SELN eLearning. Provide technical support to participants in SELN eLearning. Participate in new eLearning course content development. Assist with SELN online community including development and implementation of user engagement strategies and regular posts highlighting network learning and activities. Review and maintain SELNHub content. Contribute to the project team’s knowledge translation activities through summaries of network and state events. Identify priority topics with policy and implementation significance directly supporting states pursuing employment systems change. Support evaluation of Network events and activities and development of online surveys. Gather and catalog key state themes from internal discussions for use in strategic planning. Maintain SELN calendar of events. Stay informed of issues related to employment and the supports and services available for individuals with disabilities and individuals from diverse linguistic and ethnic backgrounds as it pertains to position responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three-five years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic or non-profit program, required. An additional four years of the above work experience can be substituted for the required Bachelor’s Degree. Applicants do not need to be located in Massachusetts or the Boston area.

Experience with online survey platforms. Experience with online communities to ensure strong user engagement, managing user data, posting blogs, resources and event details. Experience with learning management systems (LMS) preferably administrative tasks and learner oversight.

Preferred:

Employment services experience including direct support work and supervision. Strong familiarity with federal requirements including Medicaid-funded Home and Community Based Services (HCBS), Rehabilitation Services Administration’s (RSA) Vocational Rehabilitation services. Identify other related influences such as the Supreme Court’s Olmstead decision, self-determination principles, self-advocacy skills, person centered thinking and family engagement principles. Views integrated employment as a central expectation for working age adults with IDD. Problem solver, creative thinker, team player, strong communicator, writing skills.
