Service Department Assistant

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Service Department Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Vehicle Operations: Safely handle and park vehicles around the dealership, ensuring efficient and organized placement.
  • Safety Protocol: Conduct safety checks on vehicles before trips, when necessary, to ensure safe operation.
  • Vehicle Care: Treat all vehicles with the utmost care to prevent damage and preserve the dealership's property, maintaining a pristine appearance.
  • Logistics Coordinator: Efficiently complete errands for the dealership when needed, contributing to the smooth operation of daily tasks.
  • Parts Logistics: Transport parts from the Parts Department to the Service Team, making timely deliveries as required.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Provide courteous pickup and drop-off services for customer vehicles, demonstrating the highest level of professionalism.
  • Shuttle Services: Shuttle customers within a 50-mile radius of the store, ensuring a comfortable and timely experience.
  • Parking Management: Follow parking instructions from advisors or management to maintain an organized and efficient vehicle parking system.
  • Facility Maintenance: Be responsible for keeping the dealership lot, service drive, main shop, and customer waiting areas in a neat and organized condition.
  • Building Maintenance: Perform basic building maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
  • Flexibility: Be adaptable and ready to take on other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the dealership.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as an Automotive Porter, building/grounds maintenance, and customer service.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no suspensions within the last 5 years.
  • Some knowledge of basic car maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and care for customer and dealership property.
  • Willingness to learn and tackle a range of assigned tasks.
  • Good communication and people skills.
