Position Overview:

The Head of School-Based Therapy Services is responsible for overseeing the therapy staff across various educational institutions within the designated area, ensuring that students have access to high-quality therapeutic services.

This is a full-time position that includes benefits and involves supervising therapists in multiple counties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Provide comprehensive oversight and strategic development in collaboration with the Senior Director of School-Based Therapy Services.

• Guarantee the delivery of effective services that manage behavioral health challenges within educational settings throughout the region.

• Direct the School-Based Therapy (SBT) framework, which includes managing external collaborations, internal referrals, and ongoing grant or contract obligations.

• Facilitate team coordination and offer support to the Senior Director of School-Based Therapy Services.

• Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure the proper management of referrals and the integration of school-based cases into our care system.

• Supervise School-Based Therapists (SBTs) to ensure high-quality service delivery, effective scheduling, and seamless collaboration with other teams.

• Regularly analyze all data related to SBT performance—financial, quality, compliance, and administrative—and provide necessary follow-up with staff.

• Engage in Utilization Review (UR) processes for managing caseloads, session lengths, care patterns, and appointment metrics.

• Lead peer review initiatives to ensure the provision of appropriate services and to foster a feedback loop for continuous quality enhancement.

• Organize regular SBT meetings to maintain open lines of communication and feedback among the VP, Senior Director, Directors, and staff.

• Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to ensure clarity and adherence to established processes.

• Assess staff performance and make recommendations regarding promotions or terminations to the HR department and Senior Director of Outpatient Services.

• Build and sustain relationships with external organizations and other SBT stakeholders, with support from the regional VP of Corporate Partnerships.

• Collaborate with the Compass Training Institute (CTI) to facilitate training for new and existing staff regarding SBT Services.

• Assist in the clinical orientation of new hires, including tours, documentation, and welcoming activities.

• Attend bi-monthly clinical integration meetings and School-Based Director meetings.

• Provide ongoing consultation and opportunities for professional skills development as feasible.

• Conduct and/or coordinate regular supervision sessions with staff, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.

• Review and co-sign documentation for new staff, including clinical notes and assessments, during their initial employment period to ensure compliance with agency standards.

• Follow up with clients as necessary.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:


• Oversee daily operations and responsibilities of supervised staff.

• Complete performance evaluations and development processes.

• Manage timekeeping and ensure accurate reporting of hours worked.

• Ensure progress towards departmental strategic objectives.
