About the Tableau Community Teams Community-Led Innovation and Adoption Programs

We help the Tableau Community drive innovation and adoption of the world's leading AI Analytics platform.

To do that, we empower our community leaders and advocates to champion Tableau through activations such as content, social media, field events, and customer calls. We enable the DataFams technical audiences to support adoption of our products by creating opportunities for connection and sharing such as hackathons, slack channels, and meetups; and we help our community to accelerate innovation by sharing their product ideas, facilitating beta programs, and helping them solve challenging data problems.

About the Tableau Community
  • The Tableau Community has over 4 million members in the ecosystem, featuring a combination of programs, initiatives, and resources to empower learning, connection, and professional growth.
  • Our community is made up of passionate individuals who teach, advise and inspire. They have played a critical role in shaping Tableau products and culture from the beginning.
  • Learn about the Tableau Community and programs here in this YouTube video

    Responsibilities:
  • Support the application, onboarding, and day-to-day experiences for Tableau Ambassadors, Visionaries, and DataDev program members.
  • Organize and host engagement calls and events for our Visionaries, Ambassadors, and DataDev programs to help connect them with our internal stakeholders across Tableaus sales, marketing, and product teams.
  • Help our community leaders to contribute to Tableaus content/social activations, field marketing events, Data Skills initiatives, and other high priority initiatives across the organization.
  • Work closely with the global content team to create and deliver content for our blog, program website, and events.
  • Gather and share the voice of the Tableau Ambassador, Visionary, and DataDev programs by supporting focus groups, betas, and other listening programs.
  • Consistently contribute to and share priorities, plans and results to the wider team and key internal stakeholders, including senior sales and marketing leaders.

    Desired Tech Tools and Skills
  • You have strong project management skills, including using platforms like Asana to manage projects, collaborate across the teams and communicate progress.
  • You have strong collaboration skills, including using platforms like Slack and email to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • You can create customer facing content and communications, including presentations, documents, websites, and blog content, using Google Documents, Adobe Creative Suite, and HTML.
  • You have familiarity implementing and analyzing surveys - bonus for experience with SurveyMonkey.
  • You bring in creativity and problem-solving skills, resilience and passion for solving problems.
  • You can comfortably discuss Tableau product features with customers and internal teams - advanced use of Tableau to build dashboards and monitor results is an added bonus.
  • Bonus points: You have experience analyzing data from Google Analytics to inform web design and content development.

The right candidate for this position is:
  • Regionally Savvy. Familiarity with working with APAC and/or EMEA markets
  • 5-7 years of experience in marketing, running customer programs and communities, engagement campaigns or relevant work. Understanding of community networks.
  • A proven ability to analyze data, identify opportunities, and assess the efficacy of marketing programs.
  • The poise and judgment to work regularly with customers, marketing and sales teams. Strong strategic marketing skill set.
  • You are THE point of contact for our community members. These are Data Rockstars and Tableaus biggest fans. Enthusiasm is key to driving relationships with our community and for a fast-growing, fast-changing environment. Strong entrepreneurial drive is needed.
  • Crazy about Communication. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A Go Getter. The ability to identify opportunities and develop relationships and plans to make them happy.
  • Technically Savvy. Proficiency with Tableau or desire to be proficient.
