Founded in 2009 by the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino, Knowledge and Education for Your Success (KEYS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, private-public partnership, dedicated to enhancing access to supportive services for low-income residents in San Bernardino County. KEYS provides an array of services including case management to assist families and individuals in accessing existing resources and services within the County.
In summary, the INTAKE SPECIALIST will plan, organize and assist with all phases of screening for homeless or at risk of homeless individuals and families. Screening may occur within an office setting or in the field. Carries out routine administrative duties in support of KEYS departments. Provides responsive and efficient customer service.
Essential responsibilities include:
- Answers phones, greets guests and provides general information regarding KEYS programs. Refers calls to internal staff or external providers as necessary.
- Assists with initial program screening and assessments, scheduling clients in office or offsite as needed. Works with client to acquire all necessary documentation for an admission. Reviews client files and addresses inquiries.
- Provides customer transportation related to services depending on client need and eligibility. Transportation provided in KEYS vehicle.
- Performs data entry into applicable database and prepares information and data for reports; maintains files, schedules, logs, and records; checks and tabulates basic statistical data.
- Provide customer service in both English and Spanish.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent with training in typing, computer software programs, filing and office practices. Associates preferred. Minimum of two years of work experience in social service program and/or Housing industry. Demonstrated experience working with populations who are high risk and experiencing homelessness, substance/drug abuse and experience with mental health a strong plus. Must be bilingual in English/Spanish with a valid CA Drivers License.
