About The Role: Quality Inspector/Specialist in the Oil and Gas Industry


As a Quality Inspector/Specialist in the oil and gas industry, your primary responsibility is to ensure that all products and processes meet the required quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and reliability of equipment, facilities, and operations within the sector.

Your primary objective is to establish and lead a robust quality assurance and control function. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our operations, projects, and products meet stringent quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

You will play a critical role in enhancing operational efficiency, reliability, and safety across our oil and gas activities.


Responsibilities:

  • Inspection and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections and testing of equipment, materials, and processes according to established procedures and specifications. This includes both mechanical and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.

  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., API, ISO), customer requirements, and regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA, OSHA).

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality assurance activities. Prepare reports summarizing findings and recommendations for corrective actions as needed.

  • Supplier Quality: Evaluate and qualify suppliers and subcontractors based on their quality management systems and performance. Conduct supplier audits and inspections as necessary.

  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential quality issues and risks early in the project lifecycle. Work closely with project managers and engineers to mitigate risks and improve quality outcomes.

  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to personnel involved in quality control and assurance activities. Ensure that all stakeholders understand and adhere to quality standards and procedures.

  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Adhere to HSE regulations and guidelines while performing quality inspections. Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector, Certified Quality Engineer) are a plus.

  • Experience: Proven experience in quality inspection and assurance within the oil and gas industry or a related field. Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations is essential.

  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in using inspection and testing equipment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.

  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and quality management software systems.

  • Adaptability: Ability to work in dynamic and sometimes challenging environments, including field locations and offshore platforms.
