Safety Ambassador

Summary: Security Officers perform essential functions to protect property, people and information from loss, damage, or unauthorized use. Although emergencies are infrequent in many cases, the single most important reason for having a security officer is to effectively handle an emergency. The Officer presents a visible deterrent to unauthorized conduct while moving throughout the property.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to the client, its associates, and facilities personnel.
  • Investigate and report maintenance and safety conditions which may create a safety hazard.
  • Must be able to write English neatly, completing all required logs, checklist, and reports in a timely manner using good grammar and punctuation.
  • Ensure that daily administrative documentation is always kept concise and complete; maintain all daily assigned equipment in functional and presentable condition.
  • Respond to all requests for assistance relayed by Supervisor or client; complete various company or client assignments as required.
  • Prepare incident reports detailing all information and actions taken to address conditions or emergencies.
  • Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting building, equipment, and access point; permitting entry.
  • Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures.
  • Must be able to be alert and always orientated while on duty.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations correctly and with confidence.
  • Perform multiple tasks in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Ability to conform to established procedures and to help identify and solve problems.
  • Work harmoniously and effectively with others, follow directions, and maintain composure under stress.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to function in all types of weather environments.
  • Must be able to walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly on a 2-way radio and/or megaphone.
  • SOC experience a plus

Requirement and Skills:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have current BSIS Guard Card
  • Must have Guard Card class certificates (Powers to Arrest and Weapons of Mass Destruction)
  • Preferred: Completed 32 Hour BSIS required continued education
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Must be reliable, arriving for duty at scheduled times.
  • Must wear and care for uniforms properly and adhere to grooming and hygiene standards.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors and the general public.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information and data.
  • Must be flexible with working schedule and able to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to perform necessary physical duties, i.e. walking, standing, making necessary rounds, operating motorized vehicle.
  • Must be able to qualify, acquire and maintain all required licenses.
  • Must be able and willing to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Preferred: First Aid / CPR and AED certified.


OUR MISSION

The mission of Marina Security Services is to unobtrusively provide our clients and the communities within which they operate with a safe and secure facility without disrupting their ability to operate their business in the way they desire to achieve their business objectives.



This is a 40 hour, 1st shift position. Schedule consist of 0700-1530 and 10-1800 shifts. Including weekends.
