Description:

Markon is looking for an experienced construction manager/engineer with a background in construction of buildings (preferably hospitals) and expertise in the construction industry to provide owner's representative construction management services to a federal client in the healthcare industry. The CM/EE will support a federal client looking to design-build a new Central Utility Plant. Duties include providing analytical, design, and construction management support services to assist the client. The position will support more senior government project managers and fellow contractor project managers, who will work as part of a more extensive design/construction program. The ability to lead and work as a team and independently is critical. Markon seeks an individual who communicates clearly, takes initiative, and embraces project ownership. This position may provide mentorship to junior teammates.

Duties may include: 

A summary of the main responsibilities and tasks supported include:

Design Phase:

 Scheduling and Phasing Evaluation Value Engineering and Constructability Constructability and Phasing Review Review of RFI’s (Requests for Information)

Construction Phase:

Monitoring project financial data and budgetary cost accounting Construction Phase scheduling Progress Meetings  Review of invoices submitted by the design-build contractor  Assisting in issue resolution Oversee Testing and Inspection Services QA and Support to Commissioning activities including review of Commissioning Agent submittals Claims Analysis and Resolution Services Review of construction material submittals and shop drawings Review of RFI’s (Requests for Information) submitted by the design-build contractor Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution of higher learning. CM/EE shall have six (6) years of experience practicing design and construction. Reviewing design and construction plans against existing site conditions; resolve unforeseen site and design conditions/problems and proposing cost-effective technical solutions; ability to determine compliance of work, materials, equipment, and installed work with contract requirements and industry standards; knowledge of governmental contracting procedures, principles, guidelines, and public law.  Must be able to pass and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Medical facilities experience.

· PE License (any state), CCM, PMP, LEED AP, AIA
