Job Summary:

The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting team, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, and supporting the company's financial goals. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to support management in decision-making processes.
  • Oversee the preparation of tax filings and coordinate with external auditors during audits.
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Train, mentor, and provide performance feedback to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial workflows, and support company initiatives.
  • Stay current with accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Famous, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, budgeting, and audit processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in manufacture or agriculture industry is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced financial reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
