Location and Flexibility

This role is a Work From Near (Hybrid) role that will be based out of one of our offices (Boston, MA, Charlottesville, VA, Durham, NC, or Columbus, OH) that has a Business Development team presence.

The Opportunity

The Director, Business Development - Telecom role would expose you to a wide variety of businesses, many partners within those businesses, and ever-changing business and technology challenges. We employ a solutions-led strategy and are seeking consultative business development executives, rather than transactional or sales-led business development professionals. 

This role will join the team as part of our evolving TMT industry verticals at WillowTree, focused on building partnerships and solutions within one of our largest Teleco accounts (~$35M in revenue). Specific focus areas will include both the expansion of WillowTree’s current footprint and entry into new lines of business within the account.

WillowTree’s Business Development team encompasses a range of skilled professionals who drive innovation and growth on the front lines of client engagement. As a team, we rally around three distinct areas in the client journey map: Prospecting, Pursuit, and Expansion. A few responsibilities across our team include: identifying new relationships and opportunities, nurturing ongoing relationships with client partners, contracting agreements, writing proposals, pitching our services to prospective clients, and more.

Responsibilities

Introduce WillowTree's business, proposition, people, and capabilities to new client prospects via calls/meetingsConsult with potential and existing clients to define digital strategy and digital product experiences and develop creative solutions -- help frame business/technical needs, project scopeCollaborate closely with Solutions Architects to propose appropriate team/resourcing plans for client briefs and develop pricing proposalsLeverage the talents of the UX Strategy and Design Team to ideate on behalf of clients, develop concepts to pitch, and develop pitch materialsDrive the overall process to combine technical plans and creative concepts into written proposals (RFP, etc) for submission and presentations for pitchesAfter a deal is finalized, you’ll work hand-in-hand with Project Management, Engineering, and Design leads to guide the overall product delivery and own the client relationship at the highest levelBuild and maintain relationships with clients to expand partnerships, and extend WillowTree services on a client-by-client basisAssist with developing strategies and plans for developing and deepening account You must have the ability to travel up to 25% for client visits, pitches, and conferences

Qualifications

3+ years of management consulting experience in a digital or technology environment.Telecommunications industry knowledge and experienceExperienced working with, and presenting to, C-level professionals of Fortune 5000 companiesProven account-building and stakeholder mapping skills in large Telecom enterprisesExperienced in helping Telco clients define their digital experience strategy, reimage their experience design, implement digital products (mobile, web, e-commerce, etc), and leverage Data/AI to increase customer revenue and decrease costsSkilled problem solver and value driver for clients. Ability to move clients toward valuable recommendations and high-impact solutionsA deep sense of creativity -- oftentimes our clients are looking for inspiration and direction -- genuine enthusiasm/creativity in coming up with solutions for brands/clients
