About Saleeby Center

Saleeby Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Hartsville, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 


Job Responsibilities: Coordinate the new employee training curriculum for staff at Saleeby Center using Therap Training Management system. Trains most modules of orientation classes, train-the-trainer classes, and other specific classes which are directed by agency programmatic needs. Coordinates and secures trainers. Provides and supervises training to ensure that all instruction is timely and appropriate using the Therap Training Management system. Creates procedures as needed to communicate and direct the training processes using the Therap Training Management system. Provide annual mandated staff training and corrective instruction as requested. Maintain certification and coordinate activities related to Therapeutic Options and Defensive Driving. Develop training in conjunction with key campus personnel to further the facility's commitment to quality training to include the use of Therap Training Management System. Evaluate training outcomes using formal and informal feedback tools. Provide feedback to management teams to maintain an awareness of the outcomes using the Therap Training Management System. Supervise maintenance of the training facility's equipment and supplies as necessary to promote quality training. Ensures that all training is accurately recorded, filed securely and analyzed and disbursement of training records is done in accordance with the Department/Facility protocols using the Therap Training Management System. Trains and maintains the Defensive Driving program in accordance with the facility's requirements and provides a special driving program for operating the Goshen vans. Perform other related job duties. Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor’s degree and relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of applicable training principles and practices. Knowledge of methods and techniques of conducting formal and informal training sessions. Knowledge of visual aid use and development. Knowledge of aids, methods and service skills which will enable the visually impaired to become rehabilitated. Ability to conduct conferences, lead discussions, instruct training groups and stimulate individuals and groups in the learning process. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to analyze training and development needs and resources and to recommend and communicate solutions effectively.

All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
 
State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DDSN employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
 
College Transcripts:  Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application are required to provide an official, certified copy of the transcript prior to hiring or within a specific time frame required by that area, after hiring.
 
Driving Record : If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
