Legal Administrative Assistant

My client, a nationally recognized law firm, is looking to add an LAA to their Minneapolis litigation team. The Legal Administrative Assistant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group. This position requires a proactive and confident professional with a solid background in administrative tasks. You will be responsible for managing a variety of duties, from organizing case files to liaising with clients, all while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to multiple attorneys and timekeepers.
- Organize and maintain legal documents, including case files, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Prepare and edit legal documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, court appearances, and depositions.
- Manage attorney calendars, track deadlines, and arrange travel as needed.
- Assist in billing processes, including time entry and invoice management.
- Act as a point of contact for clients, providing excellent customer service.
- Regularly exercise independent judgment in prioritizing and completing tasks.
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications/Skills:
- 4-8 years prior experience as an administrative assistant required.
- Experience in law firm or corporate legal department preferred; experience in litigation preferred.
- Some college preferred; background in legal studies/paralegal studies a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and proactive business style required.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office required, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
SCHEDULE: Full-Time; M-F 8:30 - 5:00
