SUMMARY

Join us in the Beer & Wine & Spirits Industry on our Republic National Distributing Company Alaska team As an RNDC Beer Draft Technician and Merchandiser, you play a pivotal role in cleaning and sterilizing machinery, utensils, and equipment used to operate or store beer products at our On-Premises accounts and helping sales to delivery, you are the final stop in getting beverages into our customer’s hands. After the driver delivers the product to the store, the Merchandiser stocks, rotates, and merchandises our products so they are ready to sell. You work closely with our sales and operations teams to provide exceptional customer service to assigned accounts.  

Job Description

  • Turn valves to drain machines or tanks and disconnect hoses.
  • Cleans machines, valves, spigots, gauges, hoses and tanks.
  • Replaces defective sections of metal coils and lines.
  • Lubricates machinery.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean/sanitary work and storage area for draught equipment.
  • Responsible for the delivery, set-up and takedown of draft equipment at special events throughout the year.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tools, supplies and other equipment.
  • Drive within assigned route to work product from store back stock or delivery loads; aiding sales reps in stocking, handling beverage cases, and working products the company represents.
  • Fill cold boxes and shelves with appropriate merchandise, and rotate product on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain the back-stock area to allow for a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Organize back stock to ensure accurate order writing for sales.
  • Build displays in stores and maintain POS (point of sale) marketing materials.

REQUIREMENTS

A clean driving record. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to six months related experience preferred, but willingness to learn and earn certification within 6 months of hire.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and the general public. Maintain a good rapport with other employees. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate and percent.

 REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Computer Experience is required.  Knowledge of MS Excel is required.  Knowledge of MS Word is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.  The employee is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.  The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move 22-45lb cases and maneuver 160lb ½ bbl kegs in on premise, at a rate of an average 100 cases per hour.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
