Beverage Equipment Technician and Merchandising Specialist

OVERVIEW
Become an integral part of the Beverage Distribution sector with Republic National Distributing Company - Alaska. As a Beverage Equipment Technician and Merchandising Specialist, you will be essential in maintaining and sanitizing the machinery, tools, and apparatus utilized for handling beer products at our On-Premises locations. Your role is crucial in ensuring that beverages reach our customers effectively. Following the delivery of products, you will manage the stocking, rotation, and presentation of our merchandise to ensure optimal sales readiness. Collaboration with our sales and operations teams is key to delivering outstanding service to designated accounts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate valves to drain machinery or containers and detach hoses.
- Conduct thorough cleaning of machines, valves, spigots, gauges, hoses, and containers.
- Replace faulty sections of metal coils and piping.
- Apply lubrication to machinery as needed.
- Ensure a hygienic and organized workspace for draught equipment.
- Oversee the delivery, setup, and dismantling of draft equipment at various events throughout the year.
- Maintain precise inventory records of tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Drive along designated routes to assist in managing product from back stock or delivery loads; support sales representatives in stocking and handling beverage cases.
- Restock cold boxes and shelves with appropriate products, ensuring regular rotation.
- Organize the back-stock area to promote a safe and efficient working environment.
- Arrange back stock to facilitate accurate order processing for sales.
- Construct displays in retail locations and maintain promotional materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possess a clean driving record. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; three to six months of relevant experience is preferred, although a willingness to learn and obtain certification within six months of employment is essential.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, employees, and the public while maintaining positive relationships with colleagues.
MATH SKILLS
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure, utilizing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Competence in calculating rates and percentages.
PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to address practical issues and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting various instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS
Experience with computers is necessary. Proficiency in MS Excel is required, while knowledge of MS Word is preferred.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to stand, walk, and use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects. The employee must regularly lift and/or move cases weighing between 22-45 pounds and maneuver 160-pound half-barrel kegs on-site, averaging 100 cases per hour. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
