Job Summary:

The Clinical Data Specialist is responsible for gathering necessary patient services data for analysis and reporting using the AIDS Institutes AIRS program, HIV/QUAL system and other database programs relevant to NYS DOH AIDS Institute reporting requirements. The Specialist will work closely with Program Directors and Providers to collect, analyze and present outcome data to the multi-disciplinary team. The Specialist will participate in quality improvement projects and analysis as part of the Quality Improvement team.

Responsibilities:

Compiles and enters data for reports to federal, state and local agencies. Completes required reports on a timely basis. Performs ongoing validity testing and reliability reviews of software programs with regular feedback to regulatory bodies. Collect, analyze and present outcome data so that multi-disciplinary team easily understands it. Coordinates data exchange and reporting protocols with systems maintained by other departments. Assists in coordination of on-site audits and other member support activities. This will include chart audits, continuous quality improvement programs and coordination of efforts. Participates in quality improvement projects and analysis as part of the Quality Improvement team. Identifies needed information and gathers this for the program administrators to use in budget planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in science, social science, mathematics, public health, systems management, IT or related field; OR an Associate's Degree in science, social science, mathematics, public health, systems management, IT or related field and 2 years of experience in related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with data entry, quality improvement or data management preferred.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
