Cenovus is looking for a Project Management Specialist in Dublin, Ohio The Project Management Specialist is responsible for the safe and effective delivery of projects within the U.S. Downstream facilities To accomplish this, the Project Management Specialist is responsible to lead a team of 10+ informal reports consisting of team members from within Cenovus as well as external to the company. They will apply the Project Management Environment process, appropriate stakeholder engagement, and will incorporate other standard processes to safely deliver projects within the sanctioned cost estimate and schedule that meets the established business objectives and performance criteria.

What you’ll do:  

Act as a leader in safety and demonstrate compliance with all health and safety requirements in the performance of the position's responsibilities.Coordinate completion of project front-end development activities following the Project Management Environment including scope development, Value Improving Practices (VIP), risk assessment, process hazard analysis, design basis, cost estimate and project schedule development, with internal project team functions, stakeholders, and external engineering consultants.Organize completion of detailed engineering activities following the Project Management Environment including technical inputs, design/constructability reviews, regulatory approvals, and development of construction work packages, with internal project team functions, collaborators and external engineering consultants.Facilitate procurement of equipment and service contracts including development of contracting and procurement plans, selection of bid lists, review of request for proposal packages, bid technical/commercial evaluations, contract award, and contract management.Manage project execution to ensure consistency to established cost estimates, schedules, scope, quality, and achievement of project objectives through application of effective project change management processes.Coordinate engineering support to the construction management, commissioning and startup teams as required to safely and effectively construct and commission project designs.Prepare and maintain appropriate project documentation including funding requests, status updates, decision records, and ensure project closeout activities are completed.Plans, coordinates and ensures peer reviews, safety reviews (MOC, HAZOP, etc.), QA/QC compliance, and other assurance activities are completed.

Who you are: 

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Project Management, or another related fieldMinimum of 12 years of relevant experience, including project management, project engineering, construction management, turnaround, or technical leadership.

Preferred:

Proven track record of excellence with leading a strong HSSE culture and performance.Refinery experience and familiar with refining industry practices, codes and standardsProfessional Engineer’s (PE) LicenseProject Management Professional (PMP) certificationExperience engaging stakeholders from different parts and levels of the organization.Experience successfully implementing a diverse range of projects, programs and/or site activities.
