About the Role

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at Rio Tinto's Resolution Copper project in Arizona. As a key member of our Underground Operations & Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for providing repair and preventative maintenance services on machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal operating efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and test HVAC equipment, components, and parts to identify defects and ensure proper functioning.
  • Perform efficient maintenance and repairs to equipment, components, and parts of all HVAC systems.
  • Work in a timely manner while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
  • Interact daily with UGOM supervisors and maintenance crews to discuss work planning, progress updates, priorities, issues, and concerns.
  • Interact with Shaft Project contractors to address issues and scheduling.
  • Determine the general condition of HVAC systems and troubleshoot malfunctions in both 240v and 480v systems to determine the extent of necessary repairs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources, including York centrifugal chillers, commercial units, and underground units.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years' field experience in servicing or installation of air conditioning, ductless mini-split, heat pump systems, and packaged rooftop units.
  • Ability to read blueprints and diagrams
  • Current valid Driver's License
  • Universal HVAC Certification
  • MSHA training (surface and underground)
  • Team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
