Position Overview:
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking a dedicated Technology Project Management and University Engagement Specialist to enhance collaboration with leading universities at our Superior Township, MI facility.
Role Summary:
The Technology Project Management and University Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering relationships with key academic institutions, acting as a liaison between these universities and HATCI, as well as our Korean teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cultivate and sustain a network of relationships with prominent North American universities.
2. Lead initiatives for information sharing with HATCI engineering teams to pinpoint promising research domains.
3. Assist in Technology Project Management by collaborating with technical teams to create roadmaps and visual representations of current and future North American R&D activities.
4. Engage in technology sensing and coordination efforts by meeting with various engineering teams, academic institutions, automotive suppliers, and participating in technology conferences.
5. Analyze emerging technology trends to produce regular reports on technological advancements or competitor activities, providing strategic recommendations for Hyundai Motor Group.
6. Support various technology and innovation initiatives, including:
a. Development and utilization of a technology database to monitor internal and external technological activities.
b. Conduct patent analysis and development related to internal HATCI technologies or emerging tech trends.
c. Facilitate innovation workshops to explore new features, vehicle concepts, and market opportunities.
7. Manage and oversee departmental budget as necessary.
8. Participate in video conferences with colleagues across different time zones as required (twice monthly).
9. Travel up to 20% of the time, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications and Requirements:
