INVISTA is in search of an exceptional Senior Fixed Equipment Engineer – Operations Excellence who will be a key contributor for driving Safety, Environmental, and Operational excellence from a corporate level, with a strong emphasis on mentoring and enhancing plant site capabilities. This is a strategic, autonomous, subject matter expert position will be based out of Houston, TX with up to 50% travel to various plant sites as business needs indicate. The successful candidate will apply their extensive knowledge of fixed equipment engineering to teach, guide, and uplift site personnel. The role is central to our commitment to business transformation and stable & reliable operation across the company.

What You Will Do

Serve as a mentor to Site Engineers and Technicians, fostering skill development and expertise in fixed equipment maintenance and repair. Travel to plant sites to conduct hands-on training sessions and workshops, enhancing site capabilities and knowledge base.  Partner with site resources and bring subject matter expert level capability to scope plan and execute work when there is an urgent need. Lead by example in the application of critical thinking, engineering calculations, and data analysis for fixed equipment to drive stable and reliable operation. Develop and implement strategic improvements to plant engineering programs, aligned with business goals. Provide expert-level advice, guidance, and challenge for complex engineering, maintenance, or repair challenges, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development. Collaborate with industry, peers, and business leaders to ensure the fixed equipment inspection strategies and standards are transformed by leveraging emerging technology while maintaining the risk philosophy. Strong willingness to travel, engage, and align with multiple plant teams. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Fifteen (15) or more years’ experience in a Fixed Equipment Engineering role in a petrochemical plant with transformation and/or leadership experience. Willing & able travel up to 50% of the time as business needs indicate. Experience mentoring and skills development of other engineers.

What Will Put You Ahead

Preference for capability using engineering software to calculate pressure vessel calculations, heat transfer and fluid flow, Fitness for service, Finite Element analysis. Master’s degree preferred. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
