Heart and Vascular Center, part of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Associate Patient Care Coordinatorto join our team.

Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.

Location:  Our primary office location is at American Ave., Waukesha, WI, and there is potential for occasional work at either of these secondary locations: Maple Ave., Mukwonago, WI, OR Corporate Center Drive, Oconomowoc, WI, .

Hours: This position is full time, Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST. The shift is to be determined by the supervisor upon hire.

Primary Responsibilities:

Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait timeComplete check-in and check-out tasks to include insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documentsCollects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receiptsManages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policiesProcesses walk-in patients and visitorsAnswers phones and schedules appointments and proceduresManages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the publicMay be required to travel locally up to 10% of the time to cover other clinic locationsPerforms all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma / GED (or higher)1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experienceIntermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft applications

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ years of experience working in medical front office\ Urgent Care position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records Prior experience with EMR computer applicationsWorking knowledge of medical terminologyWorking knowledge of general office procedures

Strong communication and customer service skills both in person and via phone Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability Demonstrated ability to work well with othersStrong organizational and time management skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others
