Business Development Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Business Development Manager to drive new business opportunities and manage Tier 1 customer relationships in the EMS space. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role focused on growing our presence in the medical and industrial markets, with particular attention to major EMS hubs in the Central U.S. and West Coast regions.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities, particularly large-scale programs ($15M+ annual value)
- Build and nurture strategic relationships with decision-makers in medical and industrial EMS sectors
- Develop and manage detailed account strategies that create value for both customers and internal teams
- Oversee the full sales cycle—from prospecting and quoting to closing and delivery handoff
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership to align business objectives
- Maintain a clean, accurate sales pipeline using Salesforce and participate in monthly performance reviews
- Support legal processes including NDAs and MSAs
- Conduct ongoing market research to track trends, assess competitive positioning, and identify emerging opportunities
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 8–10+ years of progressive experience in Business Development or Sales within the EMS industry
- Deep understanding of Electronic Manufacturing Services, particularly in medical device and industrial verticals
- Experience working with or for a Top 10–15 EMS provider
- Proven ability to manage and close multi-million-dollar Tier 1 accounts
- Comfortable leading business conversations and building executive-level relationships
- Proficient in Salesforce CRM and well-versed in customer lifecycle management
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree required; Technical, Engineering, or MBA preferred
Additional Requirements
- This is an individual contributor role focused on lead generation, not account farming
- Comfortable with frequent virtual collaboration and up to 30% travel as needed
- Ability to sit and work at a desk for prolonged periods
