The
House Manager
is responsible for the safety, welfare, training, and overall operations of all individuals residing in a residential program. This position is also responsible for applying best practices to ensure clinical and environmental supports are in place to provide quality, person-centered services that are important to and for NCC's community.

The House Manager is a member of the people's interdisciplinary planning team and provides direct care services to residents living in supervised residential settings in a manner that promotes growth, independence, and dignity for those residents. A successful House Manager can be on-call 24/7, supervise multiple staff members, and comply with regulatory requirements, corporate processes, and associated protocols. This position also maintains close and positive relationships with referral/sponsoring agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure the people NCC serves have access to every available opportunity for their entire lifecycle.

SCHEDULE AND LOCATION:
Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (full time). Position is based in our Corporate Office in Silver Spring, MD and candidates must be able to travel to various locations throughout Montgomery County, Prince Georges County and Washington, DC on a regular basis.

This position has an annual salary range of $52,000-$55,000, determined by various factors including internal pay equity, experience, skills and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the person's safety and well-being and their plan of care.
  • Assure scheduled medical appointments are completed and consults are provided to the Nurse.
  • Assist in medical emergencies with the people supported, arrange transportation for all medical appointments, arrange staffing, and open communication with nursing and medical services staff to safeguard the person's safety and overall well-being.
  • Serve as a mentor and supervise Direct Support Professionals.
  • Supports the hiring of Direct Support Professionals to ensure that the people supported have meaningful lives.
  • Schedule and participate in onsite training with all new hires; responsible for coordinating individualized training with the Program Coordinator and the Nurse.
  • Visits assigned sites biweekly to ensure environmental checks are completed to confirm that the home and living areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition.
  • Assure that people's environment is person-centered and reflects their wishes.
  • Completes attendance for individuals and submits to the Program Coordinator.
  • Ensure progress notes and attendance are completed electronically for billing purposes.
  • Provide a supportive environment that includes opportunities for people to determine their personal preferences for daily activities, thereby fully facilitating person-centered choices.
  • Assist in coordinating care when a person supported is in crisis and communicates with the team.
  • Initiate and maintain communication with management and other staff as part of a comprehensive treatment team relative to events occurring
  • Maintains communication with day programs, transportation, and work locations when a person will be absent, has a medical appointment/emergency, court hearings, or planned vacations.
  • Assure all homes need groceries and other supplies (cleaning, laundry detergent, etc).
  • Assure assigned vehicles comply with NCC Policies.
  • Ensure financial expenses are accounted for in the electronic filing system (Concur)
  • Assist with internal/external monitoring, surveys, and audits to ensure compliance.
  • Administer medication to people as needed.
  • Maintain availability during regular and after business hours to address any emergencies and/or issues of concern.
  • Complete staff schedules and complete payroll for assigned staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Two (2) years experience working with people with disabilities
  • CPR/First Aid

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED with two (2) years of cumulative experience.
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) with an emphasis on Human Services with or without experience;
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Psychology or related field with or without experience.
