Description: Position Summary: The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging include a diverse portfolio of offices, the Office of Business Development, the Officeof Organizational Development, Talent and Culture,theOffice of Supplier Diversity, the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity Management, Strategic Partnerships for Advancing Collective Equity. These teams work together to assist the Chancellor in achieving the vision of Equity and Excellence for All. The Business Development Associate will provide administrative and clerical support to the Deputy Chief of Business Development (DCBD). Performs related work. Reports to: Deputy Chief of Business Development Direct Reports: N/A Key Relationships: Office of Business Development staff, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging personnel, central and school-based New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) staff, other City offices and NYCPS vendors. Responsibilities Support community outreach efforts by helping coordinate OBD’s meetings, forums, town halls, and information sessions with local partners and stakeholders. Serve as a point of contact for community-based organizations (CBOs), nonprofit partners, and local businesses seeking resources or information from the Office of Business Development. Help maintain community partnerships by collecting feedback, tracking follow-up items, and preparing clear and timely communications. Manage the Deputy Chief of Business Development’s schedule, contact lists, and travel, ensuring they are organized and prepared for meetings and events. Support the team with their digital platforms such as Zoom, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Teams. Assist with coordinating the various logistics for Business Development and DEIB events, including room reservations, catering, audio/visual needs, and communication with venue contacts. Assist with producing event materials (name tags, sign-in sheets, agendas, table tents, etc.) and provide on-site support at community events, ensuring smooth logistics, accurate sign-ins, and positive engagement with attendees. Qualification Requirements: Minimum High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above. Plus In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, individuals must have two additional years of the experience described in "1" above Preferred Experience working as an executive assistant to a senior executive in a large organization. General knowledge of the NYCPS system. Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate with internal staff and NYCPS community. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications. Strong project management skills. A passion for education. Comfortable working in fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and adaptability. Solution-focused, customer service approach. Have flexibility with occasional travel or offsite meetings as required. Salary: $51,094 - $56,500 (Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
