Robert Half is seeking an experienced database and CargoWise specialist to serve as the point person a client's operating system. This role includes maintaining and troubleshooting day to day system operations, identifying areas of improvement, leading system projects such as EDI integrations and Business Intelligence (BI) functions. The Application Specialist must have the ability to gain a solid understanding of our business processes, workflows, and data requirements. This position can be fully remote in the United States.


Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Overall expertise in the CargoWise application, monitor and maintain system, developing a deep understanding of the application, supporting infrastructure, and systems integration.
  • Help define new business processes, data elements, and system change requests.
  • Collaborate to improve existing processes, increase automation, and meet strategic goals.
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes and procedures, and technical standards.
  • Form/Document creation, layout, and update within the application.
  • Design and maintain reports using BI for effective data presentation.
  • Maintain and standardize security rights and groups within application.
  • Support the sales team with customers, as needed
  • Manage the web portals including set-ups and maintenance.
  • Lead EDI integration projects with customers, carriers, and overseas partners, with the assistance of our integration provider.
  • Regression and user acceptance testing
  • Provide support for application and non-application related IT issues
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage.


• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficient in Cargowise software and application support
• Knowledgeable in EDI - Electronic Data Interchange
• Possesses strong skills in data reporting and creating customized reports
• Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and techniques
• Excellent documentation skills
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
• Must have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
