About the Role

The Affordable Housing Specialist will play a crucial role in enabling people to apply for, and move into, affordable housing within our community. This involves providing services that support clients in maintaining their living situation.

Key Responsibilities

">
  • Assist clients in locating suitable housing options in the community
  • Develop and implement personalized housing plans tailored to client needs
  • Connect clients with essential community resources
  • Promote outreach and collaboration with relevant agencies and stakeholders
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and their support teams to ensure seamless communication and progress updates
  • Accompany clients on site visits to potential housing locations
  • Aid clients in completing housing applications and navigating the application process
  • Coordinate packing and moving logistics to ensure a smooth transition
  • Conduct regular follow-up sessions to assess client stability and address any concerns
  • Advocate on behalf of clients to prevent eviction and maintain their safety
  • Identify and intervene in situations that may jeopardize continued housing
  • Provide transportation services as needed
  • Cultivate partnerships with public benefits, income opportunities, and landlord relationships to promote housing retention
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and records
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and one-on-one discussions as required

Requirements and Qualifications

">
  • Demonstrate completion of HAC DHS training within the first week of employment
  • Complete mandated reporter vulnerable adult training within the first week of employment
  • Pass a DHS background check
  • Exhibit knowledge of person-centered thinking and practices
  • Familiarity with the housing search process and subsidized housing types
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • E Embodies the core values of Oak Tree Support Services: integrity, teamwork, punctuality, and a commitment to helping others
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Compensation and Salary Range

">

The salary range for this position is approximately $ $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits packages and additional compensation may be discussed during the hiring process.
