Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of team members engaged in calculating, posting, and verifying financial data for general ledger recording. This role includes managing revenue audits, accounts payable, and payroll functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are core responsibilities of this position, but additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Team Supervision: Manage and guide all accounting and auditing team members.
Financial Reporting: Compile and analyze financial data to prepare general ledger entries and accounting reports.
Account Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform necessary reconciliations for gaming and non-gaming activities, contracts, and vouchers. Prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions.
Subsystem Management: Oversee and maintain accounting subsystems, including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Ensure alignment with the general ledger and address discrepancies.
Financial Analysis: Analyze accounts reserves, fixed assets, and other general ledger accounts. Provide recommendations based on findings.
Financial Statements: Ensure the timely completion and accuracy of financial statements.
Management Reporting: Advise management with timely reviews of financial information and evaluations of departmental expenses.
Budget Preparation: Prepare and maintain budgets for assigned departments, aligning with management objectives.
Audit Coordination: Prepare and monitor auditing functions, including activities of external auditors, to secure an unqualified audit opinion.
Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and submit reports required by regulatory agencies, including Tribal, state, and federal entities. Ensure timely payment of agency fees and submission of reports.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with management and participate in required meetings.
Professionalism: Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times. Safeguard and enhance the company's assets.
Additional Duties: Perform other reconciliation tasks or responsibilities as assigned. Assist in monthly closing processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. Minimum of two years of experience required, with supervisory experience preferred. Experience in the gaming and/or hospitality industry is a plus.
Special Skills: Professional, polite, and respectful interaction with all guests (internal and external). Ability to handle extended hours and varying shifts as needed. Capable of influencing others positively and handling confidential information with discretion. Independent and proactive in work.
Language Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, tact, and respect. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Strong verbal and active listening skills. Proficient in reading and writing common vocabulary.
