Overview of the Agricultural Quality Control Intern Role at California Olive Ranch

The Agricultural Quality Control Intern will be instrumental in assisting with field evaluations of agricultural practices to guarantee the effective execution of COR's farming strategy within the Quality Control Department. In this role, you will also support the collection of fruit specimens, engage in data gathering for research initiatives, and contribute to experimental projects throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect standard leaf specimens from California Olive Ranch Farms and Partner Growers.
  • Gather sap leaf specimens from California Olive Ranch Farms and Partner Growers.
  • Obtain soil specimens from California Olive Ranch Farms and Partner Growers.
  • Retrieve fruit specimens from California Olive Ranch Farms and Partner Growers.
  • Assist in the collection of environmental compliance specimens.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Excel for data entry and fundamental analysis.
  • Experience in creating and modifying PowerPoint presentations.
  • Strong communication skills with peers, supervisors, and management.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills across all tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Plant Science, Agricultural Business, Food Science, Agricultural Education, or relevant agricultural experience.
  • Valid driver's license for transportation between farms using a company vehicle.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be capable of extensive bending and movement, prolonged standing, and lifting weights up to 50lbs.
