Job Summary:

Are you a culinary professional passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences? We are seeking a skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, maintaining high standards of food quality, managing inventory, ensuring kitchen safety and cleanliness, and leading a talented team of culinary professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations to ensure consistent, high-quality food production and presentation.
  • Develop and implement creative, seasonal menus aligned with the restaurant's culinary vision.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and oversee kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor expenses, and inventory to achieve profitability goals.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and proper kitchen organization.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and management team on special events, catering services, and VIP experiences.
  • Maintain a motivating and supportive kitchen culture that encourages teamwork and professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in high-volume, fine-dining kitchens, with a minimum of 2 years in a Sous Chef or similar leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of contemporary culinary techniques and upscale menu development.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to mentor and inspire a diverse team.
  • Experience managing food costs, labor controls, and overall kitchen efficiency.
  • Culinary degree or relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and time management.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and local health regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and general kitchen operations software.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged walking or standing with occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
