Role Summary:

The Lab Manager will spearhead a team focused on the creation of new products. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong collaboration skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a proactive, positive demeanor, coupled with a deep technical curiosity. This role requires the ability to independently manage diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and evaluate alternative suppliers and raw materials.
  • Oversee the management of approved projects, reviewing all research and field trial proposals as well as product releases.
  • Coordinate technical field trials in collaboration with marketing, operations, and technical services.
  • Ensure the application of Design of Experiments (DOE) and other statistical tools to analyze test results.
  • Review and authorize travel expenses and purchase orders submitted by team members.
  • Monitor and manage all Research Project Approvals (RPAs) within the functional area, recommending capital expenditures as necessary.
  • Engage in long-term product planning initiatives.
  • Lead the Expert Team within the functional area.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and personal growth plans for all team members.
  • Review and approve all technical reports produced by team members prior to dissemination.
  • Ensure a safe, organized, and respectful work environment.
  • Support compliance with TS 16949, PCP, and PSP processes.
  • Execute special projects and additional assignments as required.
Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in General Sciences.
  • Over 10 years of hands-on experience in thermoplastics and thermosets within the automotive OEM market, including formulation, product scale-up, and commercialization.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong oral communication, technical presentation, and writing skills.
  • Proficient in Design of Experiment, Design FMEA, and other quality assurance programs.
