The Director of Staff Development is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all in-service educational programs throughout the facility. This includes developing and implementing training programs, evaluating their effectiveness, and making recommendations for improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, develop, and evaluate in-service educational programs
- Coordinate training activities and programs with all departments
- Develop and maintain records, reports, and instructional materials
- Provide leadership in formulating the goals and objectives of in-service educational programs
- Make written and oral reports to the administrator concerning in-service training programs
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 1 year as a charge nurse in a long-term care facility
- 6 months experience as a DSD is desired
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Nurse in the state
The Director of Staff Development works in office areas, training rooms, resident rooms, and exam rooms as necessary. The position requires frequent interruptions, working beyond normal working hours, and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
