About the Role

Aveda Institutes is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Student Accounts Financial Aid Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Aid department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our student financial aid processes.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Aid Processing: Request federal funds owed to the school based on actual disbursements accepted by the Fame System.
  • Return of Title IV (R2T4) Calculations: Calculate and process R2T4 for all students.
  • Financial Aid Reconciliation: Work with key individuals and offices related to financial aid reconciliation.
  • Documentation and Communication: Document reconciliation procedures and efforts for audit purposes and create a communication structure between the support center and schools.
  • Cash Drawdown and Refunds: Assist in the drawdown and refunds of cash to ensure they are accounted for and applied to the correct program year.
  • Rejected Records: Resolve all outstanding rejected records.
  • Financial Aid Liaison: Act as a liaison with other offices and constituents, both on and off campus, to help determine and resolve matters pertaining to reconciliation.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Financial Aid Programs: Demonstrated knowledge of federal/state financial aid programs (Title IV, Sallie Mae, and VA loans).
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to produce detail-oriented work with speed and accuracy.
  • Organizational and Communication Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Analytical Abilities: Analytical abilities as well as working knowledge of basic office computer programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Student Accounts Experience: Student Accounts experience and knowledge of other student services areas valuable.
  • Fame Student Software Experience: Experience with Fame Student Software is a plus.
  • Collaboration and Diversity: The ability to work collegially and collaboratively with other colleagues in the Financial Aid department and work with and for individuals from a variety of identities, ethnicities, cultures, and socio-economic backgrounds.
