About the Role

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to support the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire in Bedford, NH. As a student assistant, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day care of animals at the shelter, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily shelter tasks, cleaning, and animal care activities during morning hours.
  • Support animal care and closing the building during evening hours.
  • Participate in animal care-related tasks, including feeding, cleaning kennels, laundry, organizing, and sorting donations.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by ARLNH staff.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program.
  • Work-study part of financial aid package.
  • Students with work-study may be prioritized.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Comfortable interacting with animals and the public.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop day-to-day care skills for various animals.
  • Enhance organizational skills, effective communication, and ability to work independently and with a team.

Work Schedule

Flexible schedule, daily between shelter hours (8am-5pm).
