Position Overview
The Junior Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Business Financial Performance team. This position focuses on assisting the operating companies in generating Monthly Financial Reports, analyzing Capital expenditures, and evaluating Operations and Maintenance expenses against budget variances. The role also involves contributing to the development of financial budgets and creating various reporting methods to enhance the financial performance of the business.

Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid position, with the initial three months requiring full-time presence in the office.

Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in the preparation of the Monthly Financial Report and Monthly Projection Report, focusing on capital expenditures and O&M expenses, including variance analysis.
2. Support the annual budgeting process by aiding in the completion of major budget management tasks.
3. Participate in the review and validation of financial model outputs generated for the business.
4. Communicate financial performance results and any related issues to management effectively.

Collaboration and Coordination
5. Coordinate and develop financial budgets and projections by gathering input from various departments and disciplines across the organization, including financial forecasting, regulatory compliance, corporate functions, and accounting.
6. Assist in preparing financial budgets and projections for presentation to executive leadership.
7. Provide management with insights to enhance understanding of financial performance.

Reporting and Analysis
8. Ensure timely communication through monthly reports to departmental management, highlighting specific financial performance metrics such as budget versus actual figures and year-over-year comparisons to facilitate informed decision-making and trend evaluation.
9. Collaborate with all departmental areas on financial and business reporting requirements.

Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with Cost Control Center Budgeting processes, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Developing financial acumen.
- Ability to engage with various organizational levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and capacity to analyze data for actionable recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, including advanced features.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Entry-level experience is acceptable.

Compensation and Benefits
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $62,000 - $69,000, with additional incentives. Salary is commensurate with experience. For an overview of benefits, please refer to the career site.
